The Austin Bluffs Corridor Project is a critical component in solving the east-west mobility issues that have impacted travelers for many years.

Two phases of the Austin Bluffs Corridor Project have been completed (at Union Boulevard and at Nevada Avenue).

This third phase will widen three segments of the roadway.
  • Segment One - Nevada Avenue to Union Boulevard
  • Segment Two - Union Boulevard to Meadowland Boulevard
  • Segment Three - Barnes Road to Old Farm Drive

Project Introduction

To keep in pace with the area’s rapid population growth, the Pikes Peak region faces many transportation improvement challenges. Addressing these challenges is a top priority; voters demonstrated their commitment by approving a one-cent sales tax creating the Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority (PPRTA). This funding mechanism enables City Engineering to coordinate and implement needed projects such as this one.

Our goal for this project is to improve mobility, safety and system connectivity while also enhancing the neighborhoods, institutions and businesses along the corridor. Through this design process the project team invites you to participate by staying informed and providing input.
